Downloading the update
Hey i downloaded the GW update the one before you can actually load the game that was fine but tried to join the game and came up with it downloading 15,000 files. Now thats not a problem only that i have limited bandwidth so cannot download much and the first update being a 100 mb and 1000 files this is 15,00 files so guessing around 1.5gb. Now that is far far too much for me to be able to download.
So what i am asking is, is there any other way of downloading the files like off a website so i could download them off a mates pc.
Thanks

No you can't download selective files, your two options are:
1) simply play the game, the client will download the files in the background and when you need them, but it'll take a while to have all the updates;
2) install the game on your mates PC using the installer:
http://www.guildwars.com/downloads/gwsetup.zip
Then create a shortcut to GW.exe, but you add the following option (right click>Properties):
"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image
This command will download the complete and up-to-date GW install. It'll take a while to download the 3.5Go, then burn the GW.dat file in the GW folder on a DVD, copy it on your PC and run the game fully-updated!
(if your mate already has GW installed and updated, you only need the GW.dat file)
Hope this helps.

If you have limited bandwidth, does it make any difference from where you download it then? You still download the same size...
Oh yeah and it's not possible :P

You can use the -image command line and just leave it overnight to download everything if you want.

With this switch, you can force the client to download and decompress all the pending updates on start up so you will not have to wait while entering a new area or mission.
The client, when started with this switch, will exit immediately after it is finished with the download and decompression. Do not use this switch in your regular game shortcut. Either use this switch from a command prompt when necessary or make a new shortcut and name it something like "Update Game".
"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\gw.exe" -image
Check online forums for the common current size of a gw.dat file, and if your's is much larger, you might want to delete your gw.dat file and then run gw.exe with the -image command. This will usually result in the smallest possible file size for a complete install. The download plus decompression time can take anywhere from 1 hour on a fast system with broad band internet access to several hours. This approach is NOT recommended for dial-up users.
